of course, on 12news.com. people from all over the valley gathered at the southwest cannabis conference for the legalization of marijuana talked about the benefits of the drug urging people to think about it as something more than people use to get high. >> there's a level of wellness that's come with this plant and people have to realize that that's what it's all about. it's not about getting high anymore. getting high is just a benefit. >> the conference is tomorrow at the phoenix convention center. this morning was the official grant opening at the dolphin exhibit in scottsdale. visitors finally able to experience dolphins in the desert. there are eight bottle nose dolphins within the aquarium and various interactive programs that allow people to get up close and personal with the dolphins. the attraction isn't without controversy. tonight the general manager is telling 12 news why these animals do well in the desert. >> the fascinating thing about

>> taking a look at some of today's other hot headlines. three people hurt after getting hit by a car near 35th avenue and dunlap. police say the victims are the driver of the car stayed onscene. investigators say they were crossing the street outside of the crosswalk. >> several businesses near the i-17 and northern were evacuated this evening due to a gas leak in the area. no one was hurt, but traffic in the area was restricted for awhile as phoenix fire worked to secure the leak. each week we highlight an outstanding teacher in the

fall been so far this engineer in this may surprise you the average high for this time of year, the 30 year average from september 22 to today first part of fall, 93.5. so far this year we've been a degree below average sitting at 94.5 and that's because we started off fall so very cool. here it is very warm out there. that's really how it's going to stay. look at your forecast for tomorrow. it is going to be warm, 93 perfect fall morning out there. 9:00 a.m., 76 degrees. perfect evening as well dropping down to 84. look at the big picture. we have high pressure sitting directly over arizona. that's keeping the storm track up to the new york met and we have seen -- north and we have seen severe weather in the pacific northwest. look at the system that continues to move into the coast. some wind gusts upwards of 86 miles per hour in some locations 5-10 inches of rainfall. in fact, look at all of these

just today 61 high wind reports. a lot of these causing damage as well. powerlines down, trees broken. a lot of people without power there. certainly, a dangerous situation in that region. for us, again, high pressure in control of our weather now. what's going to happen is we'll cool off just a little bit by the middle of the week as high pressure moves off towards the east. another area of high pressure moves in towards california and that's going to mean a warming trend by the time we move in towards the end of the week. 57 in phoenix. 44 at grand canyon. highs warming up once again. 93 in phoenix. 94 in tucson. the next seven days unfortunately it will stay in the 90s. no chance of rain whatsoever. the good news here, monique, look at the low temperatures. we are going to keep them very nice in the mid- to upper 6s. -- 60s. that is what we live for in arizona. >> highs getting there. lows, we'll take it. a sneak peek at what's coming
